August

• Delivered 400 school supply kits

• Facilitated class shirts for all students

• Decorated hallways

• Hosted ‘Tears & Cheers’ breakfast on the first day of school

 

September

• Boonster program raised $19.4K

• Coordinated room parents and grade level coordinators

• Collected 1550lbs of personal care items for the ACO

• Collected books for the Spencer Squire Book Drive, benefiting the ACO

 

October

• Hosted the Back-to-School ‘Chili Night’ – served 70 pots of chili and 400 hotdogs

• Participated in the ‘Walk to School’ Day

• Funded MakerSpace stations in the library

• Hosted Donuts with Dads (for sons)


November

• Collected 200lbs of candy for US Troops

• Raised $2.3K for various charities during Red Ribbon Week

Provided refreshments for Veterans Day Program

• Coordinated the Boon participation in the Allen Recycled Art contest. Boon had more winners than any other school.

• Coordinated 18 Boon participants in the Allen Reflections program

• Coordinated Boon participants in the UIL competitions

• Contributed to the 1st grade Thanksgiving Feast

• Hosted fall staff appreciation breakfast

• Supported parenting workshop: Kirk Martin – Celebrate Calm

 

December

• Supported VIP/Grandparents Day program

• Kindness & Compassion Club raised $93 for Make-a-Wish

• Coordinated winter class parties

• Provided volunteer thank you gifts to 45 committee chairs

• Hosted staff appreciation lunch

• Awarded the City of Allen Waste Water Works Award


January

• Supported the 100th day of school ‘Balloon Launch’

• Funded Author Visit – Chris Barton

• Hosted Milk & Cookie Night

• Supported ‘Burgers & Baskets’ - a 6th grade fundraiser earning over $1.5K

• Supported the Boon Spelling Bee


February

• Supported 2 Destination Imagination teams

• Coordinated Valentines Day class parties

• Winner of a $1000 grant from the Allen Eagle Run for highest %of participation

• Coordinated World Culture Night, 30+ countries represented and 100+ students, in cultural attire, participated in the morning parade

• Coordinated service project – ‘Kids Against Hunger’ – packaged 2,376 meals & raised $623

• Hosted Donuts with Dads (for daughters)


March

• Patriot Dash raised $38K for school improvements - provided each student with a Boon Patriot Dash shirt

• Funded the ‘Aim for Success’ AIM program

• Hosted staff dinner at Open House


April

• Recognized PTA Lifetime Achievement Members: Michelle Cunningham, Mary Beth Donohue, Sonal Ellison, & Sherri Turnquist

• Recognized Boon Watch DOGS of the year Ron Murphy and Matt Beshear

• 302 pairs of shoes collected for the Reuse-a-Shoe campaign

• Provided snacks for teachers during STAAR testing


May

• Organized teacher & staff appreciation week which included delivering notes, a coffee bar, a lunch, & distribution of gift cards

• Funded obstacle course for Field Day

• Hosted GOLD Day Luncheon & DJ for 125+ volunteers, teachers, & staff

• Coordinated the Boon Family Picnic

• Funded 14 scholarships, totaling $3600, to former Boon Patriots graduating seniors

• Coordinated End of Year class parties

• Funded Author Visit – Vuthy Kuon

• Created a PTA Scrapbook


Year Long Achievements

• Sold 600+ pieces of spirit wear

• Coordinated 2 book fairs, raised money and books for Boon classrooms & the Boon Library

• Contributed $3500 to offset the costs for student field trips

• Funded garden supplies for the 60+ student Environmental Club

• 2+ creek cleanups by the Environmental Club

• Published the Boon PTA Directory

• Provided ice cream to All-Star Students

• 128 Watch DOGS volunteer shifts + 120 Dads Club members

• Published 38 Patriot Post Newsletters

• Published 80 Patriot Press Books

• Logged 450+ copy room hours – supporting all grade levels

• Raised $998 through Tom Thumb, Kroger, & Amazon partner programs

• Collected 12,750 Box Tops, raising $1,275

• Hosted several spirit nights, raising $1,397

• Recognized 213 Patriots-of-the-Week

• PTA citizenship awards presented to Michelle Cunningham, Anna Squire, Cynthia Posey, Carla Peritz, Kristen Young, Jaynell Dalby, Beth Morse, and Frank Lopez

• Membership: 380

• Awarded the ‘Voice for Every Child’ membership award - earned by recruiting at least 50% of the school's student enrollment

• Awarded the ‘Golden Apple’ membership award -earned by recruiting 100% of school faculty as members.

• Awarded the ‘MARS’ membership award - Recruit at least 50 Men, Community Members or Grandparents as members.
