Aloha, Boon Patriots!

Welcome back! I hope you all had an amazing summer.

My name is Michelle Soong, and I am honored to serve as your PTA President again this year. I am an IT Program Manager, a dance mom, a soccer mom, a Destination Imagination coach, and a proud Boon parent for the past 10 years. I am truly passionate about serving my community. Alongside me, I am fortunate to have an incredible and talented team of parent volunteers and staff.

As a woman in STEM, I am thrilled to announce the return of STEAM Family Night. This September event promises a plethora of hands-on activities for the whole family. Moreover, we are gearing up for an exciting Fall Carnival in October.

This year marks a 'Patriot Dash' year. The Patriot Dash is our biennial pledge fundraiser, scheduled for the spring. During this event, students have the opportunity to earn prizes individually, for their classes, and even at the grade level. The funds we raise contribute to a wide array of PTA programs, enhancing both the fun and educational aspects of our school.

Our overarching goal as a PTA is to offer parents a diverse range of opportunities to engage with their children's school life. Research consistently underscores that schools with involved parents lead to students who thrive. This is evident through higher test scores, improved attendance, and a greater overall engagement with their school environment. As parents and guardians, it is imperative that we demonstrate our commitment to education through our active involvement in our schools.

Getting involved is easier than you might think! Whether it's purchasing spirit wear, attending our Milk & Cookies night, helping shelve books in the library, making copies for teachers, being a room parent, or volunteering as a field trip chaperone or Watch Dog, every contribution counts. If you're eager to become more involved but aren't sure where to start, please know that I am here to help you find your perfect fit.

The PTA boasts a jam-packed calendar filled with enjoyable, enriching, and educational events designed for everyone.
