2023-2024 REFLECTIONS CALL FOR ENTRIES!

 

PTA Reflections is a nationally acclaimed student recognition program to encourage artistic creativity in the classroom and at home. Students of all grades and abilities may participate and explore the arts based on the 2032-2024 theme: I AM HOPEFUL BECAUSE...

 

 

Students may choose one or all of the available arts categories:

 

Students participate in the appropriate division for their grade:

  • Primary (Pre-K - Grade 2),
  • Intermediate (Grades 3-5),
  • Middle School (Grades 6-8),
  • High School (Grades 9-12),
  • Special Artist (All grades welcome).* 

*Students who identify as having a disability and may receive services under IDEA or ADA: Section 504 may enter in the Special Artist Division or grade division most closely aligned to their functional abilities.

 Entries can be dropped off in the designated bin which will be located in the front office of school during 10/16 – 10/20.

All entries are due by Oct 20, 2023 to be submitted to Front Office.

 

Each entry must be accompanied by a completed Student Entry Form.

Review Criteria

  • Interpretation: How closely the piece relates to the theme, based on the artwork itself and the artist statement.
  • Creativity: How creative and original the piece is in its conception of the theme and its presentation.
  • Technique: The level of skill demonstrated in the basic principles/techniques of the arts area.

Submissions are considered for local, regional, state and national level awards and prizes.

REFLECTIONS PROGRAM TIMELINE

 

Student Entry Deadline at the Local level: Submission deadline is October 20th (Front Office)

 

Advancing Entry Deadline at the Council/Regional level: Due Date for Allen ISD Reflections Submissions to Allen ISD Council of PTAs is TBA.

 

Advancing Entries to Texas PTA: Entries advancing to Texas PTA from the Council or Regional Coordinators must be received by TBA.

 

Advancing Entries to National PTA: Texas PTA advances selected entries no later than TBA.

FAQ
Q: Can a student enter multiple categories?
A: Yes. Each student can enter as many of the 6 categories as they wish. They can also have multiple entries per category. 
 
Q: Does the student's family need to be a Boon PTA member?
A: Yes. One person from the student's family must be a Boon PTA member.
 
Q: Can music, video, or dance choreography entries be submitted digitally?
A: Yes. Save the file to a google drive (or other cloud service) and email the link to reflections@boonpta.org.
 
 

 

ArtSparks is an art appreciation/visual literacy program designed by the Allen Arts Alliance. The program brings trained volunteers into local classrooms, giving the children the opportunity to interact with and explore great works of art, participate in an engaging discussion, and reinforce concepts with related enrichment/hands-on activities. The program is free to AISD schools.

 


 

 

Allen Arts Festival, May 2024 (dates TBD)!

 

The Allen Arts Festival is organized by the Allen Arts Alliance in cooperation with Watters Creek. Proceeds from the festival are distributed back to the ArtSparks/ArtsReach program and to other non-profit arts organizations under their umbrella.  

 

Friday – Sunday, May12-14, 2023!

Join us for the Allen Arts Festival May 12–14, presented by the Allen Arts Alliance. This annual festival features an outstanding group of juried artists, local and regional, showcasing original art in different media categories. Live music, children’s art activities, and much more will make this a fun event for the entire family!
